Elizabeth started scouting back in 2001 as a Scout, volunteering at the Cub Section as a Young leader at aged 15 and has never looked back. Becoming the Cub Scout Leader at aged 18 in 2009, with a wealth of experience in running a section and delivering a programme to young people, she is a great help to other leaders in the group. Lizzie has recently taken on the Role of GSL, running of the group and management of adults in the team.
Awards
Mark has been involved for many years as a parent of two highly active boys within the group. He recently stepped up to the challenge of taking on leading the executive committee as Chair in late 2019, taking the lead in focusing the committee on fundraising, safety, and governance. The Group Chairman works closely with the Group Scout Leader and lead all of those who provide help and support to the Group in other ways.
Neil has been a part of the group as a parent, and the occasional call for help and volunteer for fundraising for several years, while his wife supplies the leaders with the food of life, cake! He has recently taken on the role of Secretary in late 2019 and is responsible for arranging meetings, keeping minutes, sending agendas, as well as keeping all the important paperwork together!
Ben has been in scouting since he was 6, starting as a Beaver, and has been a member of the 2nd Bognor team since he joined as a Young Leader in 2014. After turning 18 Ben moved to London to study a degree in Mathematics at Imperial College London. Ben has taken on the role of Group Treasurer in later part of 2019, as it is a role he can do remotely from London; has been an invaluable member of the Executive Committee since.

Sue started her scouting journey in 1965 as a Cub Scout Leader, she has taken the role of GSL for 2nd Bognor from 1999-2012 and then from 2015 – 2021.
Dedicating most of her life to bringing high quality scouting to young people in 2nd, helping to shape many young people’s futures. Sue’s role in the Group is to manage the fundraising efforts of a team to help support the delivery of Scouting to the young people.
Awards
Sue or her alter ego known as ‘Fun Mum’ has been an active part the group for many years with all 4 of her children making their way through the group. She was once known as the Super Occasional Helper for many years, helping on evenings, trips and camps but finally was convinced to join the Blue Shirt Team! Sue’s role is to provide help and support to the Scout section.
Jack started scouting in Aldwick and Pagham Cubs aged 8 and progressed through Scouts and Explorers. Turning 18 he started volunteering at Aldwick and Pagham Cubs but soon transferred to help at 2nd Cubs. He has been a massive part of the team since, with his morale boosting antics he keeps the rest of the team on their toes. Jack has a love for all thing physical exercise inclined, shown by his marathon running, 100-mile cycle rides and helping organise the Scout Junior Park Run takeover. Jack helps run the Cub Scout Section and his evenings are always a highlight.

Claire joined the team in 2021, after a head dive into Scouting life at Summer Camp. Having moved to Bognor in recent years and her two children being involved in the group she has found a love for all things Beaver Scout related! Claire’s role is to make sure the team is working well together to deliver a high quality programme for our thriving Beaver Colony
Jean, also fondly known as “Baggy” has been in Scouting for a little while. Starting back in 1986 as an Assistant Cub Scout Leader in Aldwick and Pagham and has been heavily involved with the group and all over Bognor Scouts for many years. She has recently started a new journey with us at 2nd and we are thrilled to have her on board.

Tom grew up close to scouting with his Dad “Bosun” taking on the role of the Group Quartermaster while Tom was still learning to crawl; his mum Jo spending time helping the Cub Section till 2012. Tom started in Beavers and went all the way through to Scouts in 2nd completing his scouting at Tsunami ESU. Taking on a leadership role at aged 18 at 1st Felpham Sea Scouts and later Tsunami ESU. His role in the group is to look after the equipment and making sure it is kept in good condition to make sure it can be used by as many young people as possible!
